Tokelau Language Week

TALOHA NI !!!
Last week we celebrated Tokelau Language Week.  Veronica Vaovasa was amazing with all the knowledge that she has about the Tokelau culture.  We Thank you!!!
The children had a fun week of activities.  They had Vaka races in the hall where the teachers got involved and raced the kids too and the teachers lost. Booohooo. Lol.
The kids had Best Dressed and Creative Dressed Fashion parade.  AWESOME Room 9 for being the most creative.  Friday the FANTASTIC parents and helpers came and prepared an Umu to which all the money raised will go towards our trip to Te Papa.  Thank you very, very much whanau!!!
A MAJORLY HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Whaea Rachel for all the amazing work that you have done over the last 2 weeks with the Tri Nations Language Week and the Tokelau Language Week.  Without your musical talents we would be totally lost.  AROHANUI. <3

This is our little man Zunndro enjoying the festivities of the Tokelau opening ceremony.

Room 6 students waiting patiently and enjoying the sunshine.

AWESOME Whaea Rachel and Teve playing the drums for the Opening Ceremony.

Introducing.....Whaea Sharlene. :)

TALOFA LAVA
My name is Sharlene Vai.
I have two children
I started as a T.A at Russell School in August.
I am really enjoying the hands on experience in class with the teachers and children.
I plan to pursue Primary School teaching.  So working in a Primary School is a great learning experience to becoming a teacher in the future.
